Hey guys, thinking about heading back to Broome in late March early April next year.. Just wondering what the situation is with the fishing and the weather at that time of year. I know its still the tail end of the wet season so it might be abit of a gamble but its really the only window I can get up there.
What are the pelagics like that time of year?

Depends on the wet season but
Depends on the wet season but most of our fishing is done in the creeks that time of year chasing barra, threadies etc, or up the river. You have to pick your days to go out the front due to the south westerly.

Generally late May. April
Generally late May. April will be better than March. The ocean here during the wet can be an absolute pig when the wind blows against an outgoing tide. Make for a hard day on the water.

Should be fine, you don't
Should be fine, you don't want to be there when the wind swings around... the easterlies that blow during the dry season are far worse than any south wester you'll encounter. April is by far my favourite month to fish in the Pilbara... further north should be quite similar.

Cheers Jay, yeh the easterlies we encountered earlier in the year were a slight pain in the arse... sounds like it may be worth the journey! How are the pelagics that time of year Jay?

Dunno mate I never really
Dunno mate I never really target pelagics and I'm not familiar enough with the Broome area specifically.
