T-Curve finish?

Hi Guys,
My boy just bought a T-Curve 662 Barra spin. There is a section of about 300mm that has no gloss finish on it. Does anyone know if this is normal or if this is a defect?

if it's 2 piece then it's for grip when taking it apart
