Stradic V's Saltist

Just looking at a nice combo for the young bloke for Xmas and chasing opinions on the Shimano Stradic Ci4+ versus the Daiwa Saltist.
Looking at pairing it up with a Gomoku Kaiten or similar.
Both seen like really good reels.

think the saltist only comes
think the saltist only comes in 4500 (equal to the shimano 8000ish size) or bigger which wont match to the rod you have mentioned.

i have a stradic fj 4000
i have a stradic fj 4000 paired with my gomoku and love it. my mate rates his old model ci4 go the stradic for sure

the FJ's are fantastic. havn't used the Ci4+ but have use dthe saltist.
the stradic IMO is a far better reel

these are 2 completely different reels for vastly different purposes.
If matching to a GOMOKU go the Stradic in the 4000 size

Stradic all the way!!!..a couple mates over here in NZ have had some very very poor experienced with saltists chasing kings here (not massive ones either) and the reels getting blown apart..
a hard days fishing still beats work
