Nah would have been the CCC

Wed, 2016-12-21 21:25

Nah would have been the CCC (Crime and Corruption Commission) not the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. One is a toothless tiger and the other has unchecked powers well above what WA Police can access. We had them give us a working over too that resulted in one particular bloke taking his own life rather than face the music.

I filled up in wubin the other for a $1.23.9. Nearly everywhere in Mandurah it's over a $1.30. Yet you go to the southwest hwy around pinjarra and it's under $1.20. I am talking diesel by the way.

It constantly baffles me how they can get away with this!... it is a blatant price hike due to holidays... what I find even funnier is that often when traveling you are better off filling up a short while out of Perth as fuel is always cheaper.

Price hike

Thu, 2016-12-22 08:23

as much as we all hate fuel being expensive at particular times it's not the only thing that hikes up for holidays and festive periods, airlines, campsites and accomodation and many others also are guilty of this !

The thing that peeves me

Thu, 2016-12-22 11:22

The thing that peeves me about the price going up is that it is entirely artificial. The price of oil went up what, 10%, because there OPEC countries agreed to slow down production. There is no shortage, they are just releasing less of it so people will pay more for it.

Working in Oil and Gas, the oil price should mean there is potential for work, but no, sucking the big fat one this time..

What OPEC is doing seems like

Thu, 2016-12-22 13:32

What OPEC is doing seems like basic economics 1A to me. They have an in demand product with a limited life span. Why would you make more available to flood the market at a cheaper price. Buggered if I would.

This is what Twiggy Forrest was on about when he spoke about the big miners ripping more and more ore out of the ground as the price fell. The market was flooded with cheap ore, China stockpiled and when the price started to rise they could draw on their cheap stockpiles.
