Shark fishing from piers/jettys

I'm preety new to the shark fishing sscene
my current setup is a 24kg backbone elite -shimano tyrons with 300m of 80 pound braid then with a 100 pd leader to some trave then just a crimped huge circle hook - Should I be having a heavier leader and could someone show me your boobies me a technique of what they do with the trace to put a 2 hooks on it..
I have recently been down a cott groyne with no luck, haven't had the right wind for ballooning yet.. But have tried casting with gettin 20-50 metres out but no luck using fresh baits and everything
Could anyone tell me a spot that's not to far from there aswell ?
Also when ballooning how far should I be letting it go out

100lb leader wont last very
100lb leader wont last very long on a decent shark, i use 380lb and even that comes back very worn after a good shark, i think its 400lb wire i use, easy to crimp 2 hooks on just dont loop wire to wire, crimp both to the eye of the hook.
Get your leader and wire online, not so much crimps as the ones ive bought are crap, save a small fortune
Summers usually the go for easterlies, with only 300m of line (?) i wouldn't be letting it out too far though, save yourself enough line for a big first run.
Goodluck.

hmmmm, You are not allowed
hmmmm, You are not allowed to catch Sharks and Rays off Cottesloe jetty, I have seen people picked up for that... Probably not a good idea to state that online.
I have spoken to fisheries about this, it is confirmed.

Breamslayer is right
Breamslayer is right guys.

Just because a lot of people do it, doesnt mean it is allowed. Same as fishing to the right (north) off the groyne itself.
Page 9: Fishing for sharks and/or rays in the FHPA is prohibited. Refer to page 4 for the map.
However i have caught and landed plenty of rays there as a by-catch chasing tailor, mulla and snapper there. You're just not allowed to "target" sharks/rays.
