If you are thinking of going during school holidays think again. We tried to book RAC Monkey Mia for ther first week and it was booked out all of the holidays. I expect Denham will be the same. That was back in Oct 2020 when we tried. We are now going week before school holidays.
I was there end of September/start of oct had 4 glassoffs, 2 mediocre days, 4 days on land, SE winds blowing right up the bays are trip breakers, everyone says to go April-august but we got fine weather while we were there, if u can't get on the boat there's plenty of land based/tourist options to spend your time in a pretty shit part of the world
Was there last October. Every day had 20-30knot southerlies. Made fishing and the crossing to DHI incredibly difficult. There was good weather either side of our trip but not enough to make me think twice about planning for that time of the year again.
Well we have booked a house for the 2 weeks up there in sept to october...as i will have a bigger boat than I have taken previously I will be able to get further out...only problem is were...now I am not seeking anyones marks or spots just some general advice in regards to what depth, distance I would be looking at to get a good bag of snapper, bluebone or anything edible
Anchor on a spot and have dolphins all around you eating any undersize fish that gets tossed back and to make it worse, teaching its calf to do exactly the same thing

Windy
We went to Shelter Bay in October last year....delayed from April to then because of Covid.
In 2 weeks we were there, 2 days that passed as OK, 3 days that were rough as shit but we still fished and the rest were unfishable.
South easterlies that time of the year can be horrendus.
This website might help.
Scroll down to the wind section

I would also recommend
I would also recommend checking out Monkey Mia near Denham/shark bay. Loads of dolphins
