Point me in the right direction
Submitted by GusG on Thu, 2008-10-09 10:07
I want to do some freshwater fishing this weekend. I am hoping to hit some trout water and throw a few flies around. Only problem is I have no clue on the trout fisheries over here.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I was thinking of heading down around Pemberton or somwhere but somewhere closer to Perth would be great. Also any tips on flies/rigs etc would be handy. I was thinking of trying some nymphs, perhaps with a glow bug dropper behind in streams. Any help would be appreciated. PM if you dont want to broadcast your knowledge but I would really appreciate some help.
Thanks
Gus

Pemberton, Golden ponds, Karri Valley
There is a trout farm in Pemberton called King Trout where you can catch trout. There is also heaps of spots around the warren river in pemberton to catch wild trout.
Golden ponds at Baldivis also is a fish farm where you can fly fish or use bait or lures for bream, barramundi, perch and rainbow trout. Located on Mudajong rd. About 35 min down the freeway from perth second exit past thomas rd. They also have a website.
Karri valley resort in Pemberton also has a huge lake and trout farm where you can fly fish. Hope that helps.
