My old man has some spare holidays off work so we are going to head up to kalbarri for 10 days. Never been there myself, my dad has but never fished we would like to see if anyone can give us some helpful info reguarding some areas to fish, and target species. cheers James

Hey Jimmy Theres a dinghy
Hey Jimmy
Theres a dinghy hire place close to the mouth of the river, 5hp so no skippers ticket required. Around the mouth, you can get most species, but don't get sucked in because it can become dangerous. Take light and heavier gear, light if you go in the river, and heavyer if you want salmon from the beaches.

Yeh Im fantasizing the prospect of a WC Hawks GF, I started following the hawks as a kid rebelling the adult WC supporters in their first GF in 91. Bloody good effort for the eagles to be in top 4 after spoonin it last year, ripper game last nite.

Kalbarri Fishing
God's country mate!
All going well with the weather you should have a great time. The Tailor up there can be "hourses". The river itself fishes well for anything from good whiting to Mulloway. Great bream and sometimes some mangrove jacks. If you're fishing for Tailor then take my advice and use gear that is heavier than you would normally use in the metro area or you will get blown away. We use Mullies here, up there it's full gardies or poppers.
You can fish all the way from the river mouth down to Red Bluff. If you do get a dingy then head over the other side and fish frustration reef but take plenty of terminal tackle and be careful. If the weather is crap stick to the river or do what I do; go to the pub LOL.

Careful about that
'You can fish all the way from the river mouth down to Red Bluff.'

As the guys mentioned
as the guys mentioned tailor and mulloway mostly this time of year. Chucking poppers is the go with heaps of spots from the rivermouth north and south. If you want to night fish a sandy beach try wittacarra creek or the river just before the point.
