Inter
I can only vouch for the penn inter series 2 30tw drag is smooth as silk. I have caught plenty of good sharks on mine and big spaniards etc. I landed a 2.5- 3m tiger last week. They are pretty heavy but a well proven game reel I have about 800m of 80lb braid on mine and a big mono top shot. An older inter can be picked up pretty cheap these days
another reel I have and is worth considering is a tld 50 lrsa has also caught me plenty of big sharks and is a fair bit lighter than the inter

70VS
If you want that much mono maybe have a look at the Penn 70VS.
As far as brand they will all do the job is more about capacity.

like the shimano
have very little problems with mine. I prefer the waterproof drag. That said you can pick up a decent 2nd hand reel that will do the job and the 50w size will take your 1000. Another option is an everol. They are bullet proof and very tough. A 9/0 size will see you through and will take 1200 metres easy.
