Time to lube up, Fisho's

I am sure it was only a few years ago that there were no concerns...and now with reduced fishing time, it has gotten worse.

THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WAY OF SOFTENING UP FISHOS BEFORE THE HAMMER DROPS .

Punch felt the heat , so they installed another mouth piece , one thing is for sure they will not rest untill there is a total ban on all demersal ...... all last year they were collecting data at point peron , most people that goes out for demersal doesnt get back till late afternoon but they were  there from early morning asking the fishos that chase whitings herring squid etc.if your catching then youve over fished and depleted stock  if your not catching then stocks have depleted to an alarming level .

 I don't do a lot of demersal

I don't do a lot of demersal fishing but I know lots that do. There is no question this is a very visible campaign to make the public believe the "science" telling us stocks are depleted. Tell everyone who can't gat past small pinkies that snapper stocks are depleted! This is a total stitch-up but these pricks think they have a mandate to do whatever they bloody-well like!

Just like they did recently to the law-abiding firearms owners.
Efforts to extend the limited consultation process were rejected. After 11 clauses of the 492 clauses contained in the Firearms Reform Bill were debated / examined in parliament the WA Labor Government bulldozed the Bill through Parliament’s upper house without further debate or question. So much for consultation. All along the Gov ran the campaign that 'we are keeping you, the public safe.' References were made that law-abiding firearm owners were potential targets for criminals to illegally possess firearms. FFS, I would suggest the WA Police focus should be on the criminal sector. Apparently, that's not the case. The WA Labor Gov spent in the order of $40M of taxpayers money dis-arming persons who legally held firearm licences.
Whilst the twin shootings of two innocent people and subsequent suicide in Floreat May 2024 was terrible the WA Opposition correctly stated that the new Firearms Reform Bill would not have prevented such an occurrence. Why not, quite simply the existing legislation at the time enabled the WA Police to disarm / act on information from the public of potential threats. In this case they failed to act, read F'kd Up. I'm not about bagging the WA Police Force, they generally do a great job.
This probably comes across as a bit of a rant, sorry all, but in all fairness I'm insulted by the Firearms Buy Back Scheme which would offer me less than $500 for what would now cost you close to $4K to replace.

But don't be concerned fellow fishos, the WA Labor Gov is your friend, they are there to help you.

I agree on the firearms too

Tue, 2025-09-23 11:15

I agree on the firearms too Alan. I don't own any guns (wish I did!) but i have a mate who was a shotgun champion and is still regularly used by country councisl to control pests and ferals has plenty. He has $10k plus Beretta's that the government will give him $420 - $750 to surrender. Give me a break!

I wonder if they'll introduce a buy-back for fishing outfits? Mine don't get enough use or kill much so maybe I'm better off with that.
