Ended up going out this
Ended up going out this morning, conditions weren't too bad, big swell early, but the wind stayed right down. Nothing decent to report tho. 3 snapper I. The 40s but nothing size, couple port Jackson's but otherwise very quiet. I am well due for a decent fish any time soon!.. also found out my house battery was running low. Hopefully just needed a good run!

Worth a go
Good on you for getting out there, even if the pinkies didn't coperate. A good reminder nothings garanteed, even though good ones were thick inshore before the ban. Hoping to have a crack around the inshore reefs myself on the weekend, although reckon it might be busy at the ramps.

i agree fully. I think these clsoed seasons almost make you sometimes feel a bit of urgency to "get out while you can" even if it means pushing the limits . personally i have found myself thinking like that sometimes, and have had to pull myself back.

Same for me
Fish solo and often close to breaking reefs, so have made it a rule to simply not go out if the swell is 2m+. Nonetheless, the bans make it frustrating when the weather does come good, which has really made me focus on fishing more frequently during open season, rather than my previous more relaxed approach to take advantage of the occasional good weather every few weeks. I never used to regularly chase demersals, just sought out the occasional snapper as a bit of a dinner treat. But now, while my fishing effort over a year has probably stayed about the same, the focus and take has maybe increased a bit for demersals.

Sunk
No fish is worth dying for. Small boat big swell recipe for disaster.
