Is everyone who uses a gill net in the peel area aware of the new regs reguarding netting times. The new regs allow you to get your net in the water after 4'30pm and it must be cleaned every hr and you must stay within 100 metres of the net. Then the net must be removed by 2400hs

The regs haven't changed for the Bunbury area 2 night still allowed wed and fri 1 1/2 hrs before sunset to 1 1/2hrs after sunrise next day.

As a person who uses a net to catch mullet of a wed night as a social eventwith friends I have no problem with the changesI'm normally in a semi comotose state by 1130 anyway. The changes should put a stop to people leaving their nets out all night and catching a hell of a lot of bycatch.
