You will get heaps of differing advice here from some people who know what they are talking about and a lot of others who don't. Don't be lazy, get of your arse and go chat to the guys who can best help you out

There's plenty to choose from

There's plenty to choose from for $300.

Here's a few examples;

Pflueger Trion

Berkley Dropshot

Gladiator Freshspin

Shimano Raider

Banax Iris

Shimano Symetre

Daiwa Legalis

Daiwa Exceller

Various Pflueger and Shakespear reels

Etc etc...

Dont forget to take into account of braid. Good quality braid like Sunline Super PE will complete a very nice combo.

+1 for the trion, I have one and love it and for only 120 odd dollars you can't go wrong.
Pop into Oceanside and they will sort you out with a good combo at the right price, they did for me.
Cheers

Yeh spot on Davy, quality rod and well priced compared to others, good value for money.
