Go to navionics.com and
Go to navionics.com and register the card to get the navioncs pc app for free. Then you can view the charts on your computer.

WARNING YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CHART DATA!
In yellow, on the back of the packet, it says all this guff about not putting it into a pc or a card reader.
Not sure I've heard about getting their pc sw for free though. You used to have to either buy the 30e product that was delivered over the net, or the version that used a special card reader and the card you have.

"Get the Freshest Data and
"Get the Freshest Data and Navionics PC App for Free" - Straight from the little pamphlet I got with my Navionics Gold card recantly.
"Connect to Navionics web store on www.navionics.com. Your new chart will automatically be recognized"
"Insert your Navionics chart card into a card reader and connect to navionics.com to register your card."
Blah blah blah... Can give more details if you need. It does say not to try and copy or explore the data on the card as data may be lost or corrupt.
So I did all that and got the Nav PC App for free as well as unlimited free updates on my card for a year. Nav PC App is pretty good, can import all data from my GPS on the boat and look at them on there and also export back to the GPS.

Sounds good but sounds like
Sounds good but sounds like they changed something since the older cards, I have the pack for my long-gone gold card on my desk and they pretty much say they will send the devil round if you try and use them in a pc =)

Not sure any version ever let
Not sure any version ever let you save to the chart card itself, but to other cards of the same format that the GPS can use.

From my conversations with
From my conversations with Ron the Navionics app sounds fairly straight forward and worked no worries, but he still used somebody else's card to test with!!!

I think that there has been
I think that there has been some recent software development. I know that it says on a CMap package that if you try to read the card with a normal card reader you will loose all the chart data. Turns out that was not true, as I tried it before reading the literature! OPPS!
No difference though as it wouldn't read. You needed a special CMap card reader to use it on a PC.
