My Photographs of the best W.A fishing Locations
Hi guys, lately i have been getting away to photograph my favourite fishing Locations of W.A
Thought i would show you guys as alot of you like my work.
I would love to make up a calendar someday to sell in fishing shops and give the money to charity. On day soon i hope.
I will update this thread for more fishing locations and any locations i have missed feel free to ask me and i will do my best to capture it.
I will start with my latest shots. I took a drive yesterday at 4am to Moore river for some fishing and photographs. What a magic sunrise. I was praying for a really nie sunrise and the gods provided.
I also prayed for some nice tailor but the gods failed me. Lovley to get away none the less.
Enjoy...

Excellent as always marc, you have a fishermans eye and a snappers talent ( no pun intended )
I reacon you show how W.A really is , but we cant see it , as its always there.
Ask a oversees visitor , and they will agree that oz is a big sky country, full of colour and contrast.
look forward to more mate, your a great addition to the site, cheers

Thanks heeps :) yeah my girlfreind is from the Uk and im really starting to appreciate how lucky we are here in W.A. Nothing against the UK but we have such beautiful beaches and land/seascapes and best of all massive open spaces.
I try my best to capture W.A as the eye see's it. To many people put way to much treatment and it looses the real feel.
Thanks again :)

Thanks man yep 100% self taught. When i left Coventrys after 10 yrs service i thought " Buy a dslr or a saltiga" Ended up buying a canon 400d and a penn 850ss usa, still strong as.
Learnt all myself, no coarses etc. Youtube for some stuff but mainly just getting out every weekend and never giving up. just about gave it in a few times because none of my mates wanted to come out but now i have inspired so many to take it up. Goes hand in hand with fishing i recon especially because we live in the best country on earth

Cheers guys, couple of the
Cheers guys, couple of the shots like Zak fish mentioned are HDR, its the use of 3 images, over exposed, normal and under exposed shot blended together in a program called Photo matix. I try keep it as real as possible but they looks a little unreal because most photography doesnt catch what the human eye can see. HDR does.
I try avoid hdr but like in the pot alley shot with so many shadoes and lighting in the wrong locations hdr will save the day.
This photo is a photo i have sold many of, natures window, hard place to shoot yet again because of the lighting and shadows. I reallu like this one and Kalbarri picture framers if doing a great job of the framing for me...

Moore River Sunrise
Hi marc
I'm constantly amazed at the quality of your photographs, they truly are a work of art, man.
With respect to the first photo, what lens have you used...I presume it's a wide angle of some sort? Did you hold the shutter open for any length of time to capture the sunrise?
I like to take photos of sunrise, sunsets, macro 'anything', projects I'm working on (currently building a new boat shed - report to come once it's finished), etc. but I'm light years behind you, though.
Maybe Adam would consider setting up a Photo Shoot Forum where we could share photos, with descriptions of camera/lens/f stop/special techniques, etc.
I hope you do put the calendar together as I'd surely be buying one.

Thanks so much Rusty.
Thanks so much Rusty.
First pic is a panorama, i think from memory i shot around 15 shots over lapping each shot by nearly 50%. I use a program called autopano pro to merge and blend the images. Just a few fine touch ups in photoshop.
What i have done in that Moore river shot is use a graduated filter. This is a filter that filters just the sky/sun. Basically like using sunglases for your lens so you can get a lighter foreground without over exposing the sky.
My girlfreind Lisa made a vid showing how effective grad filters are. Here is the vid...

I have had a few Pm's asking
I have had a few Pm's asking pricing..
I sell a few of my pictures and im not in it to make lots of money. With anyone off the street i will push to get $100 in my pocket for the time effort and cost involved to get the shot.
Mates and anyone on fishwrecked i only marked up $50 on cost.
Couple of different things i do is either if you would love a beautifully wood finished framed copy with quality inks uses, quality photo paper and behind glass professionally framed in either Jarrah, river oak, sheoak, pine they are mates rates of $310 total deliverd to your door personally if you are local.
Other option is purchase the original copy "jpeg" which i can emai you and you can take it to camera house, snapfish etc and get it printed and frame it yourself. This option is $50.
My honest opinion is the framed ones in wood are simply stunning and look so good .

Beautiful photos
Just wondering when you said that you'd like to make a calendar up with your fantastic photos of WA, may I suggest maybe a Fishwreck Calendar with all the school holidays, public holidays, moon, tides (for up north as well) etc would be a cracker of a calendar with your photos and fishwrecked logo, hint hint Adam hahahahaha or a sponsor on the FW site?
Just a thought Marc. Good luck with your photos and future employment
