Mulloway weight
Submitted by tombstone on Mon, 2012-08-06 22:02
Hi Guys,
got a question for those in the know, a few years back caught a horse Mulloway (have pics somewhere) but wanted to know if there was a way to get a rough weight by knowing the length of the fish, it measured 172cm, i had some trouble holding him up for a photo, so was just wondering if anyone knows what weight he/she would have gone.
Cheers.

That's something I would
That's something I would like I see pictures of, the chart I use doesn't go that big, to get accurate weights for these charts they need to have seen a lot of a certain size to be able to say what it weighs and with it supposedly being that big very few have been seen even close to that size.
always looking for a new challenge!!

54.8 kgs
At 172cm that fish would be ± 54.8 kgs on my conversion tables. Would love to see the photos as that would be one very big fish.

Yeah guys, i am going to do
Yeah guys, i am going to do my best to find those photos for sure. All i can say it was my first Mulloway and i thought it was big. I wouldn't think it weighed 54kgs though. Mind you when i did catch it, it couldn't be released...i tried and it was pretty much a floater. Bit of a shame to me, i would have thought at that size it would have been a good breeder. needless to say the people who were around thought i was an idiot for trying and they commented that it was a horse of a fish.

Alright guys, just spent the last two hours searching for the photo...only to be told by the missus that she sent it off to a magazine/news paper a few years ago to see if i could win something. well now i am searching for the negatives so i can develop them again. as i said earlier it was a while ago before the advent of camera phones etc. will keep you posted once i get them sorted.
cheers.
