Gumtree Bay

We go up to Gumtree Bay quite a bit.

It's 17k's north of town. Go in turn right go up past the shacks for about 2k's.

Great fishing from the beach and a really nice spot to spend the day.

Quarter length McChuckies straw fed down onto the shank of a 1/0 hook run out the back of your tinnie and watch the Herring fight to get on. My son got one early in Year that I called a Tailor for a bit. It was so big I got confused, it was funny to have my brain know it was a Herring but is was so big I wouldn't believe my call. Locals say they get bigger than the one he got.

Edit..... Plenty of big Squid there too.
