large cruisers

just got back from a fish out of ocean reef today. it was a great day out but it was ruined by some rude complacentent ars***les in big cruisers 30ft plus. we had about four guys pass us today whislt anchored all in big boats about 20 metres away goin flat out causing massive wash to throw our boat around. its not that hard to give us a bit of room and SLOW DOWN! iv got more than harsh words for these guys. anybody had the same problem?

Same thing happened to me just off Pt Peron 2 weekends ago. Luckily my Chivers is very deep. He's in abig black yaht that has been parking at Safety Bay last couple of weeks. Not sure if it's rudeness or clueness. Ben

Report them to DPI,as skipper in charge of a boat you are responsible for the wash your boat produces.Take a photo,record their number and any other information you think necessary to gain a prosecution and ring them up.Unless someone does something and it gets published nothing is going to make them change their ways

Yes we've done the same, ignorant ar$#@#@!holes and thats
being polite. We've been anchored up also near Carnac Island fishing for whiting and these big cruisers just storm through going to Heron Bay, have to give the cray pros hats off to them, they pass you quiet away away and just cruise past, but then they (well most of them) know what they are doing and conserving fuel/mechanics also.

When I was in Perth I was a member of Swan Yacht Club. This necessitated negotiating the bridges out of and on return of the Swan River. Anyone that has done that knows that at peak times, vessels can be both congested and varied (in hull size). There were many occasions when large fly bridge crusier skippers astern of boats (so they DON'T have right of way) hurled abuse at skippers in boats ahead of them (including me) who gave way (correctly) to boats ahead of them. Yes, it would seem there are a number of larger boat skippers that have to rudely compensate for their anotomical deficiences - and I'm not just talking about the organ between their ears!

Was fishing on the rocks at mindarie on saturday,
When a big boat came flying past less that 100mtrs from the rocks, Causing massive washes for us on the rocks. Some people are just thick i think.

I just find the biggest star
I just find the biggest star sinker I can rustle up and let it fly. Makes a lovely mark on nice white gel coat. And a pretty good noise to boot.
