no tips on geraldton but being from Mauritius i can say for sure that it is the best period to go chasing marlins!! either west  or north (rough seas however) of the island is good, live bonitos trolled slooooowly best bet for a biggie, trolled skirt skipper's most popular choice

be sure to book your boat early, otherwise you may not get a spot or you'll be charged a ridiculous price!!!

best period of the year for GT as well, any coral reefs hold thems, bigger ones on eastern coast.

good luck mate

You are going to landbased fishing paradise compared to Perth mate.
Just south of Gero is S-Bend and Greenough. Great landbased spots for mulloway and tailor. Good bream fishing sometimes in the Greenough river.
Just north of Gero is Kalbari- Great fishing there.
Then there is Gero itself.
There is some fantastic mulloway and tailor fishing inside the harbour. If you look for the crayfish processing facility inside the harbour, there is some rock walls near there which are great mulloway spots.
The beaches around and in Gero are also great places to catch a good feed of whiting.

If you climb the rocks and head south of the river mouth there are a couple of great platforms for fishing. Just watch the waves though matey.

thanks adam

you can get all sort of trevallys land based, however for the big ones you'll have to get to the reefs, better get a boat to get you there..

there is a guy who mainly fish GT's, just try and get on his boat..

his website follows :http://www.fishingandhuntingsafaris.com/

You could try Drummonds just

You could try Drummonds just north of Gero. There is usualy Tailor around when they are running. But if you have a 4by then south of Greenough is the go.As Colin says be careful and check the rocks first as there is a couple of spots that have holes in them.Just big enough to slip through and when water is washing across them you tend to forget they are there. Very dangerous.
