Hi guys
Just wondering which knot is your favourite and strongest knot that you can trust.
Also if you could choose between the uni knot and the double blood knot which one would you choose.
Thanks in advance

For leader the improved albright
Not going to knock the others, whichever you trust and are comfortable with and remember is the best choice

For leader FG, for terminal
For leader FG, for terminal tackle from 4lb to 200lb mono I use the Uni knot and barely ever have the knot fail.

Old school
Normally use the locked blood knot when joining leader to swivels, hooks etc. once you pull it tight and feel a very subtle initial slip, where it locks down on itself, never really had it fail on me yet.

Fg
ive just started using a FG knot for braid to leader. Before this I was using a double to an improved Albright.
if game fishing, I'll go back to a bimini twist with an Albright.
for hooks etc I use a uni knot.

Knots
Definatley FG for braid to leader on all jigging rigs.
Bimni twist for braid to swivel or clip for dragging lures and some bottom outfits.
Snell for leader to hook or double hook set ups.
Holmer Rhode Loop (acording to Geoff Wilson) for leader to lures and lead head jigs.
And something i have been using for the last 2 years or so. The Centauri Knot for tying leader to swivels or leader to hooks if the Snell has been snipped off. If tied correct and the line has not bunched over itself, all loops have layed in order, then it has not failed yet. Here is a link http://www.netknots.com/fishing_knots/centauri-knot
I would highly recommend everybody get a copy of Geoff Wilsons Complete Book of Fishing Knots and Rigs. I was given a copy when i was 16 and have since got the revised edition. The best long term investment in fishing you will ever do.

bimini twist GT knot for braid to leader, seems this knot has lost flavour with most fishos in the last few years. I crimp almost everything else.

Geoff Wilson's aren't bad,
Geoff Wilson's aren't bad, but I reckon sitting down with netknots and challenging yourself to try learn them and work out exactly which works for each application is the best bet. I use uni for most terminal connections, I prefer improved clinch for light line, and for trace connections uni-uni for mono lines. Braid to fluoro I use Albright, GT and FG depending on line diameters and breaking strains. MID knot is pretty cool.

PR Bobbin
I love my PR bobbin for braid to mono, but cant do that in the boat. A little time consuming but a great compact knot when finished

Pr bobbin
eric I also use a pr bobbin, not sure why you can't use it in the boat ? I do and have no problems, also what do you call time consuming ? Should be able to complete the knot in about 5 mins ! I rate this knot highly for strength and ease of tying.

Centauri
I use the FG knot for braid to leader- low profile so casts really well. Have a look at this vid
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52uWL43hUbw
takes a couple of goes but quite reliable.
I use uni knot for light line up to say 50lb and a Centauri knot in heavy line- really easy to tie

PR Bobbin in boat
Hi Marineboy
I dont use mine in the boat as every now and again, it lets go before I finish the knot and I'd hate to see it fly off into the deep blue yonder. Probably my bad for not setting the drag correctly every time . Might try and learn the FG for when I need to re tie on board. Having said that, I fish with a guy who ties braid directly to his leader with a palomar ( I think) and I have'nt seen that break yet either, but knot a chance I am prepared to take

Pr bobbin
eric, I tie a small loop in my braid and hook it over the bobbin in case that happens so the bobbin does'nt fly off.
