Jurien Bay weekend fishing

 Hey Guys,

Had a load of fun on the weekend up at Jurien Bay and managed to get some fishing done. Plenty of snook, little tiddlers, and a load of tailor up there. This was off the Jetty and using mulies for bait. Unfortunatly none of my tailor were big enough to keep but a few of the lads were pulling them well over 40 cm!

Enjoy your fishing!

any macks caught from the jetty? i was up there also but decided to head further to sandy cape and fish the beach.

Tailor a plenty with the bigger models 50-60 range eating whole baits left out for bigger prey during the night.

awesome weather and the lightning storm in the distance made for a great show waiting and passing the time till morning...

Sent a balloon out too that saw no surface action either unfortunately.

great weekend tho :)

Yeah I am trying to get some rock solid confirmation that the Macks are in force.

Read in the paper that they are, but havent heard it anywhere else.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Yeah I went in to get a bit

Yeah I went in to get a bit of info off whitey but he wasn't in. The bloke behind the counter said that some lucky angler caught a 1500 long spaniard off there the week before.
Thought it be a good idea to send out a balloon haha... Water looks great up there tho so still worth a shot I reckon.

Nice Zach, good to see you have a go and post a report. The old jetty was were it all started for me, i saw many large tailor, skippy, macks and the odd seal hooked from there. (no seals were kept lol ) . I havent seen the new jetty but i am very keen to have a look.

Cheers Grant..

lol cant blame you for not

lol cant blame you for not keeping the seals! one guy caught a fish and as he was pulling it up one of the birds swallowed it and his rig got stuck in its throat. The new jetty is nice, and it curves around to run parrallel to the beach.

I was up there two weekends ago (Last weekend of Novemeber) and caught plenty of snook, some herring and a number of tailor (Kept 1 for the pan around 35cm). I was using and unweighted gang full mullie lateral to the beach from the end of the peir I was getting smashed every cast. I was also pulling in the largest Tailor of the night and that pesky seal chomped him I was hooked into him for a minute quite scary! I thought the rod was about to snap!
