How many rods do you take Boatfishing
When we first came up here (Dampier) the boat looked like a porcupine on steroids. I had a rig (basically) for any sitiation possibly encounterable. That was 2 light spin, 2 medium spin, 2 BB rigs, One designated floater OH, 3 trolling overheads (the floater a little lighter) and a 10wt and 8 wt saltwater fly combo.
Refined a lot over the time, so now 2 medium/light spin for tuna casting, squid, placky sport. BB outfits can double as trolling, especially the Stella 8000SW and Mrs Saragosa 8000 ( prefer to use the 2 OH and the stella, with the stella on the short corner, biggest OH shotgun) and one of them doubles as a floater. Cant put away the fly, but now only the 10wt ( you just never know when a saily rocks up, and I would be happy overgunned than under.
Just wonder whether everyone culls their list like me, or what do you take???

EDIT: it for 2 fishos

4
Four is the number for me as well, anymore and it just becomes to much stuff around the boat. You can usually cover all your basis with four, no matter what situation really

I try not to take any more
I try not to take any more than I can store away totally clear. Rocket launcher takes 7.
Comps I take 2 of each line class up to 8 kg(only one of 1kg though) so thats 9 before the deckies rigs.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Now days I pretty much head
Now days I pretty much head out chasing a Particular fish or stick to a particular style so I normally end up taking one or two spacifics and then I always throw in my 4 to 8kg raider/ 5000 stradic combo, with 20lb braid which will pretty much cover any unplanned targets. I only fish out of a tinnie however so the chance of encountering an Billie is rare and with exception of barra fishing, i don't trawl. Shack trips or camp trips are a whole different matter.
I live with fear every day... sometimes she lets me go fishing.

No more than 4 now days but
No more than 4 now days but if just up the creeks i take two.
I hate having a boat full of rods they just get in the way and more risk of breaking one.
Still cant resist hiding the fly rod just in case.....

really depends. Off perth
really depends. Off perth probably two - pe3 jigger and heavy outfit with a spin setup if its tuna season. Up north - probably 10 at least if fishing from tantabiddi. LIght plastic, heavy pop, medium pop, heavy bottom, 5 trolling outfits, just reall plan on being out all day so if trolling is slow we can bottom bash, if conditions are good go popping, if its poo stay in the reef
