Horrocks for Long Weekend
Submitted by Wannafish on Mon, 2014-02-24 18:14
Hi all,
We are heading to Horrocks for the long weekend, and am hoping for any hints or tips on where we might be able to get a fish. We will be towing my 5m Quintrex centre console, and be there Fri night - Tues morn. The weather looks good, but the swell appears to be up a bit - I'm unsure how this affects things up there??
Thanks for any info anyone wants to share!!

I take it you are familiar with beach launching, cos thats what you will be doing.
looking at willyweather at this stage saturday looks good and sunday morning too monday blowing up, the swell looks small according to my readings but it is a good groundswell looking at the forcast swell period. Generally it is a bit rougher than say perth waters, good days weather wise can be few and far between over summer. Worse case scenario and you dont want to head wide you can have plenty of fun inshore up there heaps of tailor around the reefs your centre console wouldbe perfect for that. probably worth chuicking some cray pots in too
should be some pelagic action behind the reef too

Thanks Rig and Lame,Yes, I
Thanks Rig and Lame,
Yes, I mostly beach launch - I have a drop-down spare on a hub, so that shouldnt be too much of a problem.... We will have our 6yr old and 4yr old on board, so wont be heading too far, but am keen on trying for a Dhuie, or Spaniard. I will throw the dive gear in, and hopefully grab a few crays too...
Any co-ords, or any other help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again
