hi..was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issues. I have a furuno 627 only about 4mths old..It was working great until the other day I went out and switched it on.it came on but wouldn't show the depth, the contours were showing but no bottom. So I turned it off and on a few times and unplugged it a few times then it worked. .but the next few times it did it again. I checked all cables and connections they seem all fine. I have noticed though that wen I first bought it and tested it at hm it made a pulsing sound wen turned on..but the other day I turned it on no pulsing and no bottom reading.does anyone have any ideas that I can try pls..thanks in advance. .cheers don

Try spraying the plug connections
With Inox or WD 40 - may be minor corrosion on the pins - I do this every trip (both plug and rear of sounder after having a similar problem a couple of years ago - no problems since and the pins still shine

Thanks for rhe the info
Thanks for rhe the info guys. Not sure how the transducer would get fried or pins get corroded as they are under cover all the time. I will try and spray connections though. .just interested in finding out if its ok to use the transducer out of the water. .I mean turn on and play with the settings? ..thanks for all ur info..Don
