Hahahah...
I know what you mean - "chics footy"!!
I wonder what the crowd would've been like if they hadn't priced the tickets at $2?

Yeah i agree Gilly, I told myself not to make a big deal out of not having a beer since Thursday though.... Yes thats right, Friday no beer, Saturday no beer, SUNDAY NO BEER!!
That is a huge deal no matter which way you look at it...
I'll definetly have one in the morning on the way to work....
I just feel Gilly that if the Hawks can keep the most underated player in the league ( James Frawley ) fit then its their again....
The bags he kicks and the Forwards he subdues is incredible....
Bring on the footy!

I am here. Just not doing much fishing! Went to watch the women on saturday at the new stadium. And both the stadium and the footy was pretty bloody good i thought. Always good to beat the cold pies. To their credit, the girls on both teams handed out quite a few hard hits and some biffo too.
#17 for freo, dana hooker goes alright.

My expectations are for
My expectations are for Fremantle to pushed back into contention for the 8. A few more wins than last season. Another preaseason into the youngsters and a couple of good trades and drafts.
My wish for 2018? That Harley Bennell actually realises that AFL careers are not built on talent alone, but on a commitment to train hard, obey team rules, and respect his team mates and fans.

That's what I'm afraid of Unc
That's what I'm afraid of Unc and for what? The Big Bash has revitalised domestic cricket but the AFL doesn't need that and I'd rather see a return of the State of Origin even if it was West Coast that began killing it by not releasing their best players for fear of injury.

Not expecting big things from West Coast this year but looking forward to seeing if Ryan can translate with game to the AFL and what Rioli can do at ground level. Also looking forward to seeing Venables and Watson take the field as well as Duggen and Yeo moving into the midfield a bit more and no Masten.
And then there's Nic. Geez it'll be nice to have a ruckman or two taking the field this year and actually get first, clean usage of the ball.

100% agree..... Although
100% agree.....
Although Clarko says "if it aint broke, smash it" I don't get what Gill is trying to achieve with this one.....
I'm not sure how the Afl can persuade teams to play better players but IMO you'd be foolish to take your eyes off the main prize.....
Just like 20/20 I wont take much notice until season proper starts, well all except keeping an ear to the ground regarding the youngsters form guides as i'm in a couple of Supercoach leagues again...
Good to hear you on the mend Unc, Good to see you're still lurking Randall....
I would like to see my team ( Hawks obviously ) have a year that is not plagued with injuries, a rebuild is necassary but a rebuild with some of the best out hurts....
I'd like to see Omeara play a couple of injury free years to see what all the hype is about with the lad.....
Be good to see Barlow get back to playing good footy after the leg snap

Half mast.
Better a few than the purple one at half mast all year.
Question, did Natalie Fyfe play in the game the other night against Colliwobble ? I'm sure I seen a "Man Bun" or two in the huddle.
Maybe he was hiding in there.....

The Fremantle Dockers are the jaccaranda trees of the AFL, a beautiful display mid season, only to fall in a disgusting purple mess at the end...
And
The re-naming of Perth Stadium to 'Optus' Stadium is a good reflection of the West Coast Eagles, quite good in Perth, but bloody useless anyone else...

You'd think he'll definitely
You'd think he'll definitely miss a few Boon. As someone that recently did an ACL (3 months before NicNat) it's not the injury/surgery that's the issue but it's everything else around it that sets you back. I reckon Nic has the mental strength to put the injury out of his mind and go in at 100% but the worry is his graft hammy and the degeneration of the knee joint with his 100+kg frame which could see him coming in 75% fitness. We've all seen an unfit NicNat and he does look veeery lazy at times.
That being said I'm looking forward to seeing Shuey getting some silver service at full tilt off those fijian palms this year.

That Brad Hill sure can run... away from the contested ball. 6 disposals of which 4 were clangers. He's effectively just a fast Chris Masten.
