Fish ID

My friend sent me this picture from Kalbarri and i cant work out what the fish on the left is . My first thoughts were a Blue Bastard or a Sand Snapper but it seems to be a bit different from any pictures i can find.

Yeah i thought that too but the colours just dont match, unless because it was caught from the surf it had gone very light in colour ?

Been a long time since ive caught a nice Mulloway like that, they got a couple from there but got some monsters out on the boat . No pics tho, sorry .
