All luck of the draw mate.
All luck of the draw mate. Obviously much more windy that time of year, but I've been at the end of Sept before and had very fishable weather including a couple of glass-off days on the gulf side. Going for 10 days you are giving yourself a pretty good chance of at least a few fishable days, especially if you can move between gulf and west side.

generally you get dead calm morning at the end of october/november, but the wind picks up by 9am in my experience.

Luck of the draw
As it's been said above definitely luck of the draw.. I've been up there all times of the year and have had weeks of awesome weather in October and weeks of horrible weather in June/July. I'll be up there this year just before you as it's the only time me and the misses could get off together so fingers crossed for both of us..
My advice... Take a hole heap of kiting and windsurfing gear in hope of the wind pumping.. Your sure to get glassy conditions and no wind the whole trip..
As for the fish, they are always there sometimes just have to try a little harder..
Enjoy. Belly.

I was just thinking about
I was just thinking about buying a kite for my daughter (something to keep me sane when it is windy)
I'm not after a tricky stunt model, but one which a small girl can handle and not break if it hits the ground.
As I haven't owned or built a kite for 30 years, has anyone recently bought something off ebay and it worked ok?
I'm in karratha, so cant just go to the local kite shop

But he is mostly landbased
The wind can then sometimes be an advantage. Apart from northerlies which arent that common you should have a lea with the wind behind your back on either side, depending on the blow.
Good sportfishing spot is Bundegi flat on an incoming tide. Wade out with a light rig, some slices or soft plastics. Once your nurries are cold you are probably to deep. Then as the tide come in over the flats you just cast out and retrieve. If its on and often is you will have fun with queenies (little), rat Trevors (bloody hard to tell which type at rat size) and all other odds and sods, and if lucky gaint herring and milkies.
Dont panic if a few little reef sharks swim around, they aint no GWS. Queenies fresh arent that bad as Beer battered F&C, as for the rest pass. But it is fun.
High tide at learmonth jetty sight casting to squid is a hoot, but it can be packed.
