Exmouth advice?
Hi all. I will be arriving in exmouth today on our family holiday. Will be there for the next ten days and have the 5.2m tinny in tow. We have been up a couple times before but never with the boat. We are staying at the lighthouse so happy to launch either side.
Ive got all the usual setups for trolling, jigging and bottom fishing.
Would love to get onto some demersals and im keen to fish inside and outside the reef. I see the wind forecast is up slightly for the next few days so inside the reef or on the gulf side may be an early option??
Would love to get my son into some good fish.
All advice ive been given about exmouth to date is "ya can't go wrong up there" id hate to be the one that proves that theory wrong.
Cheers for any help in advance
Mick and Cattle dog.

have a look in the search
have a look in the search function , plenty of info in there.
been a while since we were up there . depending on the wind is to where you fish.
inside the reef from tantas youy should get some nice spanglies or outside the reef and trawl a couple of lures for the macks oh and the grey coats can snaffle your catch quick so dont mess too mush just reef them in![](http://fishwrecked.com/sites/all/libraries/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/teeth_smile.gif)

Info
Hey Mate
We were in Exxy about a month ago and found tantabiddi side the way to go. This time of year the wind should die down a bit in the arvo most days. If you go out of tantabiddi side follow the lead line out past the reef and find any structure in about 50m and there will be reds, spanglies etc, you will just have to wind like f$%& to beat the sharks. 50m isnt that far off shore and if you throw a couple of lures out the back while looking for the ground at the back of the reef you should pick up some spanish macks too.
Cheers

Let me know how the swell
Let me know how the swell is. I might drop by later in the week if the weather looks ok. Otherwise I'll keep on steaming north.

Bit of an update. Had a few
Bit of an update. Had a few casts of 5 mile on tuesday for some undersized bluebone. Good fun for me while the kids had a play.
Managed to take the boat out yesterday morning. Launched at tantas and headed outside for all of about 10 minutes. We did troll a couple of lures out then back in but decided it was a bit rough.
Found a few nice little spots south of the ramp (cheers Ctan)
And bagged a variety of small emperor and had fun with some MASSIVE estuary cod chasing our catches in. Plenty of rigs hanging from the big fellas gob too......good fun
It was all a bit of a recon mission to find spots to have a fish on sundown in the next couple of nights.
Then we moved around in shallows and caught some of the biggest, most aggressive squid I've ever caught. Had a good feed, got some good bait and ready for round two in the coming days.
If the forecast is close we will be getting outside again for a better attempt in the near future but right now the wind is absolutely howlin.
Cheers guys

Heard about a 6 odd metre runabout
Breaking off a mooring at Ningaloo station - popular opinion is - it's probably on the Madagaskan coast now with the wind the way it's been. It's still missing.

Yep the wind has been pretty
Yep the wind has been pretty strong the whole time. Managed to get the boat out on sundown yesterday for a nice bag of spangled emperor. Good fun in only a couple metres of water. Man they fight dirty.. .....give em any drag and they find the reef real quick. Sharks became a problem pretty quick.
