Dunsborough Fishing
Submitted by NewPerth Fisho on Fri, 2015-10-23 11:27
Hi All,
I am taking the family to Dunsborough in a couple of weeks and will be towing the boat down.
Its a 4.75m Quintrex Freedom Sport and was wondering if anyone could possibly point me in the right direction to try and get the family a feed.
Conscious of the demersal ban on at that time so hoping for some KG Whiting etc.
Also any tips on bait etc.
Thanks heaps in advance.

I'll be down there next
I'll be down there next weekend for 7 days doing the same. As Dale said that's how we use to do it when we were kids in my uncles dinghy plus should be a few crabs and squid around. Also plan on chasing YFW on poppers on the flats and giant herring cruising around the drop offs and I'm going to try find a few spots to hit the sambos too.. Cousin reckons the bay is chock full of occys too

Thanks for the reply Dale and Jackfrost.
Will certainly give the weed beds and sand patches a go and see how we do. Hopefully the weather is good too!
Might see you out on the water Jack?
Cheers - Ivan.

Spewing man, never get good
Spewing man, never get good weather down here! Just waded the sandbar flats today and got a hookup and a few strike in less than ideal conditions. Pretty sure it was yellowfin the way they surged. Need to change the hooks on the Sugarpen to assists!
Tomorrow's looking the good though, hoping there's a few boats around as I'll be heading out solo

Plenty of kg's around in the sand holes at the moment. Just need to get out first light and you will get them.
Head out from Meelup to around 30m and drift around for some BIG sand whiting, just drift till you find the schools then drop the pick.
