Hey guy how are we all, I have a question I'm not sure on, I'm running a big game land based rod, looking at getting a diawa saltist, not sure which one to get, do I go the 40 or 50. I'll be targeting sharks from shore, any ideas and reasons would be very much appreaciated, Thanks Rails

I would go the 50 mate
I would go the 50 mate without a doubt, the reason being line capacity. The only advantage to the 40 would be if you were casting smaller weights but thats not really an issue in shark fishing.
What rod are you pairing it with, gonna be casting or only balooning etc?

Casting
I have 2 x 40s and find them pretty good to cast with if that's what you plan to do with them. The 50 might be z bit big for that purpose. If you are gonna use it to balloon or paddle out baits tfe definately go the 50 for line capacity.
I have 30 and 50lb mono on mine. You don't get a great deal of 50lb on them.

Will be pairing it with the Wilson live fibre land based big game rod, balloon fishing so don't really need to cast just a little lob,
