put the boat in at the Geograph marina, when you exit that marina turn left and go hlaf way to the jetty and put them about 15m off shore, went down a few weekends in a row a month ago and got quota in 2 pulls evrytime , might pay to have a bait basket heaps of pekky fish your bait wont last very long, we also got a the occasional occy in the net aswell some were monsters! in saying that the crabs were huge too! good luck!

What were you using as bait?

I think your occy was lucky you caught so many crabs or dinner might have been different

Might still be a few around

Might still be a few around still but they will be going quiet soon for a few months. I always go around 4pm so you catch them as they are coming back in from their day time nap. As for a spot, I go right leaving the marina and once I've cleard the area where boats come out, I run my pots along there, from the marina exit groyne up to the next one to the right. I use mulies for bait and make my bait packets out of cheap plastic gutter guard, folded over and use small cable ties to zip up the sides. And once you've done a run along to check your nets, swing around and check again constantly, if the crabs are about, the mulies will get them around pretty quick and they make short work of the mulies, but that's a small price to pay.

Cheers

Dale
