Nights
Nights are the go, a young bloke from the park has been hooking up to big and small sharks every night, some reasonable mulloway being hooked but not landed [ inexperience] and its lousy with soapies about 10 inches long.
An occasional good tailor is coming in from the river mouth on bait, they are not touching lures. The usual small flathead are on the sandbanks in shallow.

the Carnarvon 1 mile jetty was up there back in the day with the Sampson jetty as the best land based spots in WA but as usual got buggered by pricks (and we know where they were from don't we carnarvonite)

Arsonists
Lighting a fire to keep warm on the half way landing at night when there's a 25knot plus SW wind blowing, low tide so we couldn't get rescue boat in close with a fire pump so ended up sacrificing 6 bays by cutting the beams to prevent fire from spreading out to the end.
Took that long for Govt to cough up with $1.2 million to repair gap while Busso jetty got $22 million.
The end section deteriorated while all this was happening because no one could access it and has been closed off from the shelter shed out.
Sand from the river mouth is slowly encroaching towards it but this hasn't affected the fishing quality.
