Canoe caught mackies

When will we see the first canoe caught mackie - coming back through Cockburn Sound yesterday lunchtime had three free jumping (chasing bait fish) just on the edge of the shipping channel - would have stopped but had bagged out on dimersals and did not wish to be greedy -  huge bait schools on the sounder with large fish on the perimeter

Come on paddlers who will be first

Weak excuse!

Caught hundreds in the past

And never been much of a lure chucking fisherman, was great to see them in the sound and in numbers and I had already released four dhuies before keeping a small one so am well aware that there is no need to kill everything you catch but equally mackies caught on light gear can often be very much worse for wear after a long fight and do not release that well.  Each to their own !

Great work there for sure, id thought the bag out would have been on the snapper being in the yak but dhue's and then Mack's! How's that for timing!!!

 Q. the mack looked to have taken a placy or small lure of some sort with a mono leader?? no wire NO!!

 Again great work
