Camping and Fishing
Submitted by keano1000 on Thu, 2014-02-20 15:13
Hi Everyone
Thinking of going camping this weekend with the missus. Anyone know a good, nice place to go camping and fishing. We do not have a 4WD.
Just looking for some where to relax, have a BBQ, few drinks. Take in the secanery and peace and quiet
Any tips would be most welcome
P.s
Was fishing in hillaries south mole last week. Great spot, plenty of tailor and whiting

Yeah love cosy corner hey! Very speccy location!
That little camping spot is the hamelin bay caravan park. Its in the unpowerd sites and away from everyone . So quiet and nice!
As you enter the park its to your right, up a little hill. The site number is D2
Couple more images of D2..

D2
Not sure if D2 is the same spot, there used to be an old caravan up there that the deckies off the fishing boats used to stay in, they called it baked bean tin hill because that's about all they ate and washed it down with alcohol.
Magnificent part of the coast down that way

Boranup/Contos
You can also camp very cheaply at Conto's and Boranup Forest camp sites down that way.

Contos is a wicked camp
Contos is a wicked camp spot. Just be careful cos schools do camps there. I went for camp last year. so it would Probably ruin the peace and quiet. I know I contributed to the absence of serenity last year.

Fantastic pics Marc
You'll have probs getting a pitch at that spot in future.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Blackwood
Try Alexandra Bridge, should be good for a few blackies and maybe some big crabs this time of year.
cheers
