 If you google Paulus fishing

Thu, 2013-01-17 15:32

If you google Paulus fishing you will find his tests on lines people have sent in and you can decide what to buy from there. If you don't want to do that then most tackle shops have a range of brands and when you do the rounds you will see that they all carry some same brands and some just for themselves. Anyone here can give you their opinion but IMO the technical info is a big start esp when it's been properly measured. You will find that most brands state that their braid is as thin as much lighter mono but the tests reveal that most of the time they are telling fibs. Check out the website I mentioned above and see for yourself. btw if money no object but still seeking thin braid Paulus own brand is among the thinnest avail but while expensive they are no more so than something like Varivas or YGK, prob cheaper.

Braid

Hi mate, We stock Extreme PE braid instore and 300m spools of 50lb is $45 for Fishwrecked members. Its not as thin as some other upmarket japanese lines though its strong and still well accounted for on the diameter side of things. We have a good range of other braids instore if need be.

Its actually only 30lbs

And by the way I'm actually only a beginner and I couldn't seem to find any 300m spools of braid anywhere in bcf....... maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

Just topshot the spool with 100m of braid, the rest rarely ever leaves the spool, but if its for beach work, just leave the mono on for now, no point loosing braid to bust offs and knots due to weed etc..

Whats with all the bagging

Fri, 2013-01-18 15:01

Whats with all the bagging out of the Platypus? I use the Platypus Super 100 for spooling up my Dogfight 7000H, the 30LB has a tickness is 0.43mm. I haven't had an issue with the quality and struggle to find much that's thinner.
If anyone can suggest me a 30LB line with a thickness < 0.43mm I'd be willing to give it a go...
