over the last 30 years I have dived the woodside pipe line 25 years ago it was loaded with trout, spanglies , big jacks, triple tail , reds, Spanish flag, mackies and the odd cod , but over the years Ihave seen a steady decline in the fish population on the pipe line , just wondering if any one has dived it lately and how its looking ( I left 2 years ago)

havent dived it but did do a long ROV job on the Devils Creek pipeline over the full length til too shallow for us, about 3 years back.
Heaps of juvenile reds into 5 meters and it had only been in a month or 2.
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Hellova lot better places to dive
Don't know why you would bother, Dampier has so so so much quality diving both relatively shallow and deeper with spectacular caves and overhangs and masses of coral - just have to pick your tides. The pipeline is also seething with toothy critters - lucky to pull a single fish off the bottom before it is snaffled.
Mind you I have been spoilt as I don't live there but fly in to stay with a mate who has dived it for well over a quarter of a century so he obviously knows some speccy spots, heading back later this year for another session even though he has recently retired to a 42 foot lagoon cat
