Looking at heading out tomorrow to target yellowtail kings. Was thinking around the stragglers or back of rotto. Are they a year round species that can always be found ? Any tips or techniques would be appreciated.

Lots of berley is a good
Lots of berley is a good start. Cube up mulies and throw a few over every few minutes. Fish unweighted or lightly weighted mulies and throw some 5-7" plastics around. If you can see them in the berley trail then you can cast stickbaits around as well :)

Unweighted mulies in a berley
Unweighted mulies in a berley trail is a great way to catch them, I've always found summer to be the best time to chase them on the shallowish reefs. West end of rotto as close to the reefs as you safely can get usually produces. Otherwise the ffb, stragglers, coventrys etc is worth a try too
