Worst weather conditions in decades?
Submitted by br3nno on Sun, 2016-12-18 19:03
I cant remember a summer thats been this windy.
There is about a 2-3 hour window from 9-12 where the winds are low. Before 9 its a strong easterly and after 12 its a 25 knot SW.
Anyone else having trouble finding days to take out the boat or fish off the beach at sunset?

I don't know that's so rare, it seems to be a pretty normal summer pattern to me. Pain in the arse yes, but it is what it is.

I Thought it was pretty normal, perhaps blowvember kicking in a little later. Seems we went from Winter to early summer.

Pretty normal up our way since October
Although the weather seemed colder. Until it got hot. A couple of good days, then blows it's arse off for a week. Demersal ban has never bothered us much up here, usually too bloody windy to fish much anyway that time of year.
In my opinion, weather tends to go in ten year cycles, approx. We always were very aware of it, obviously, being on the water every day. old opening of the season(15 Nov) could go either way, howling southerly or fresh easterly. But you could sort of count on a good window of a couple of days around 20th Nov when you needed to stack all the gear and head south. That went missing in the early nineties till the late nineties, then came back again from about Y2K. I could give exact dates, as I kept reasonably detailed daily logs of weather and catch for the whole 26 years I was behind the wheel. As well as being a particpant in the Fisheries log book program.

Willyweather and Seabreeze
Willyweather and Seabreeze are at complete odds for Friday. Hitting the river regardless unless it's 20 knots.
