Soft sand

It's a beach launch, on very soft sand thats often clogged with weed, but if you have a good 4wd or two its doable.

A lot of locals use tractors down there.

weed is a common problem and you are going to get wet, no jetty or anything.

Windy Harbour

Checked WA Boating Facilities under Tackle Bag in the right hand margin but nothing there for Windy Harbour.  Maybe you could take a pic if you get there and add it to the thread with some details.  Too late for you unfortunately but might help some others out later.  cheers

 guy's.

Cheers Matt will post joshua.

Thanks ricey good to hear ramps been upgraded ,dont mind getting wet hamilen bay is the same scenario. Mind you it's me mate that gets wet i  just stay in the boat he gets the car then i drive the boat on lol.It looks fairly protected there to.

I put my old 17' plate ali in at warrora / 14 mile couple of years ago and locals said that i'd never do it with one car. Pissed it in,their eyeballs nearly fell out of their head when we put the boat on the trailer for first time and pulled it up to camp.

I have 80 series t/d with 33's on it and it suprised me what  they can pull when you let them down to 5lb.

got a 2.5 ton boat now so its probably a whole diff ball game .If i end up down there will post some pic's of ramp.

Cheers

Your better off launching off

Sat, 2011-11-19 17:18

Your better off launching off the beach 100 m or so from ramp, let tyres down on 4wd and trailer and cop abit of salt water. I was down there about three weeks ago and the reno on the boat ramp had not started.  There is a few narly rocks around the ramp.

Yep down there a couple of weeks ago as well and the new ramp will be awesome once completed, or should I say stared...?. In the best of conditions the ramp is ok but with this part of the world, you gota pick your days, very shallow water in close.
