why?

why is it that i struggle to release undersize pinkys successfully in 40m of water due to barotrauma, and when i was fishing in 300m of water the pinkys swam down by itself so easily??
stupid question, but are deep deep water pinkys less susceptible to barotrauma??

More a speed thing
I think it is probbaly more related to the speed you bring them up. Maybe in the deep you are a pussy on the winding

release weight
use the weight jeffree it can be annoying when you have school of small snapper around, also if you think its a small fish wind up reel slow, the benefit of this is it sometimes turns into a big fish ie live bait for sambo/shark
