Hard top v Canvas
Submitted by Bradmac73 on Wed, 2025-06-18 10:38
Hi all
My current boat canopy has just about had it, so looking at upgrading to either hard top or flat top canvas roof. What are people experiences with one or the other of these and any pros/cons?
The build for both will include new solid ali frame/launcher and new clears.
Boat is Leeder Customcraft 6.7m.
Any info approeciated.

I would definitely go hard
I would definitely go hard top if the cost is acceptable. Does a better job and should last forever.

I have a hard top + a canvas
I have a hard top + a canvas extention that wrapps around a 25mm aluminium frame.
From a weight factor alone, the canvas over aliminium is a winner.
Asthetics wise, the hard top looks good.
In a world where I am very wary of weight, canvas over aluminium frame every day of the week...

Canvas
Agree with Swompa on canvas rather than glass because you are adding more weight up high in raising the boats centre of gravity making it easier to roll further.
Both do the same job of keeping you dry and in shade and I expect canvas would be heaps cheaper
