What a day!

Went out at 4am this morning to have a quick bottom bounce with some mates. While unloading the boat i slipped off the oceanreef jetty and fell in getting soaking wet, much to the amusement of my mate! Then when rigging up on the boat i dropped the brand new fishing pliers into the drink! By this stage i was cold and pissed off! I finally dropped down 2 snelled squid on my new jigging rod (3 months old used twice!) As i was free spooling it down to the bottom it started to speed up immensely so i chucked it in gear and went to strike when "BANG" my new rod snapped about 12inches down on the 3rd bind! I got it back, then we decided to head home, fishless! Oh what a day, going home from work to get drunk and cry!

Look at it this way, it can only get better from here! Sorry to hear about the pliers and your rod. Hope you didnt hurt yourself in the fall.

Bad Day
Thats definately one of those bad days where its best to just go home and pretend it never happened.
The graphite rods that are out these days are far less forgiving than the fiberglass ones. Easy to bruise or fracture the blank causing a weak spot.
