warnbro sound

went out to the trench on saturday and me and dad both hooked up on something huge i lost it after 5 mins and dads line snapped after 1:30 hours, been told there are 6ft wide rays that cruize up and down the trench. anbody else hooked or landed them ?

I don't know where that is so i cannot comment but, the channels in cockburn sounds turn up some pretty big rays that are very stubborn some possibly not too far of that size!

I was about half way or so
I was about half way or so to the islands in warnbro sound on Sunday and had one around that size swim under us.... Dear Santa... I need a bigger boat!!!

Not in warnbro but waaaaay
Not in warnbro but waaaaay offshore, was fishing with Simo I think it was and hooked up to a massive fish. Thought it could be a huge dhuie the way it was running (and floating out away from the boat near the surface), but as we went over to it winding in the slack, it dove so we knew it wasnt something good :p. Ended up taking something like an hour and a half (both fighting), got it to the boat and wrapped the leader and took another run (with burnt hands....) then just cut it off.
This thing would have easily been 6' across. It was an absolute monster. We had some big reel + 80lb line though...
Perhaps they come in closer though? Good luck catching one. Would want several meters of tough thick leader though + heavy main line.

Yeh there's a few big ugly grey rays in warnbro. Hooked 2 last night, 4-5ft across. Hate the bastards.

in warnbro sound there is a trench that starts 100m from the beach and leads alway out to 5 fathom, its 18 meteres deep the whole way out. we were only using 20 pund as we were going for snapper, on saturday we are taking the big gear out to try land it

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
