Time between Woodman Point and Mandurah
Submitted by Grey Ghost on Sat, 2017-12-23 22:33
I was wondering whether someone can give an estimated time to drive my boat, on the water, between Woodman Point and Mandurah Canals (for the lights).
22 foot Ali and planning on going mid afternoon on the 25th. Are there many cray pots on way, apart from ones behind Garden Island?
I was thinking it may be quicker than towing the boat from Cockburn Power Boat Assoc. and also I don't feel like dealing with dweebs at the Mamdurah boat ramps.
Thanks for help.

Sorry
Wasn't giving the Mandurah folk a hard time, it's more about Christmas lights at Mandurah, Boxing Day and Australia Day often bringing out a higher percentage of inexperienced, impatient and inconsiderate people at the very busy public boat ramps.
Thanks for the distance/time info everyone. I was told by a guy yesterday they he has done the trip 5 times and it only takes 45 minutes, hence the reason for questioning it on here. 90 mins sounds more realistic unless there is only a 5 knot breeze and 0m swell.

Forecast is 20 knots SW
Forecast is 20 knots SW tomorrow arvo. If you can hold a 22ft ally at 20 knots straight into it for an hour and a half I'm seriously impressed.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

me too
I was thinking the same , car miles are nicer than boat miles in any sort of breeze , gee i think boat ramp dweebs move around a far bit , i have seen them everywhere.
On the same hand tis the season to be jolly , so I say , hitch that boat , get yourself some bogan attire , wack that jetpilot sticker on
and go down and embrace those dweebs with a' "mery xmas " message to all you meet .

I've launched from Furnisdale
I've launched from Furnisdale and Dawesville between Xmas and New Year and found them both to be pretty painless apart from the parking.
My advice is don't be that dickhead at Dawseville ramp on New Years day in front of hundreds of people who proudly says they don't need a hand when offered and then forgets to flick over the boat latch clip and then sheepishly have to ask someone to jump down and do it for you while you're powering onto your trailer.
