cost of a day out fishing

after seeing that other thread about cost of boating. how much money do you put into the economy on an average day out all inclusive.
i know we used to allow around $150 for the fay out which covered fuel for car and boat, bait , ice , food and drinks . sometimes it would go to around the $180 mark . but in saying that how much would it cost to go out for dinner and a movie or taking the family out for the day. i think boating would be the cheaper option

For us landbased a typical day is about $100-120 for 2 of us. For myself and a weekend down south from Perth it's about $400/500 I'll spend
always looking for a new challenge!!

Food and drinks I"d have
Food and drinks I"d have consumed anyway and I make my own ice using balloons and work pays for my car fuel so that's all null and void. If I head out to the 40's of Hillarys I am looking at $30 fuel and $10 bait as I'm doing alright with the jigs and $9 parking. Cheaper than taking the family out to lunch at a cafe.

Boating can be as cheap or as expensive as you want.
Heard of someone that put 3000 litres of diesel in to get to the abrholos and had to fill up again to get home.
WA has the second highest boat ownership per capita in the country so there are all levels of expenditure going on.

Thatd be entertaining but Im guessing maybe an urban myth.
There is nowhere to fuel up out there except maybe the old carrier boats but it'd be a major drama for them to organise that!

They might be referring to
They might be referring to Geraldton - We have refueled in Geraldton post abrolhos trip - Baileys Marine have a pump in the marina next to the Port.
Its a little further to add to the trip but you don't have to carry fuel (bladders) or even if you had capacity the extra weight

$200 split between 2 blokes
$200 split between 2 blokes usually bag out with dhu and Kg so i would say it costs nothing if you take into account how much fish costs. Cost kicks in when i get home and open the fridge lol

Don't forget servicing
I have twin 150hp 4 stroke Yamahas. Average cost for a full 100 hour service is $1,600. Average trip for me is 5 hours. That's just used $80 in servicing for the trip.
I know some of you will say service them yourself, and there elements of this I could do (like the fuel separators), but I get a professional to do it.
BTW, not complaining at all...this is my lifestyle and I'll continue doing it at (almost) any cost.
Average trip for me is $200 plus servicing

Add on iinsurance, to the service costs I'm in the twins dept, have a seperate tow vehicle, insurance, rego, etc, all the fishing gear costs, also bought a holiday house to store the boat and use as a base. Not to mention other boat costs BOAT. I'm not adding it up, I'm just going to enjoy it
