usually. But heaps have been caught in Shark bay, not rare in Kalbarri and Abrolhos.
But unusual down here if not rare. I would hit up Glenn to see his thought. Red throat emperors are much more frequent down here, and I suspect this Juvie is lost, and has done a Nemo trick but instead of the Eastern states current the Leuwin Current dragged him down.
Never heard or one caught in the Swan, but thats just me.
i cant prove with photographic evidence but ive caught 3 30cm specimens of spangled emperors in the swan, happened a couple of years ago but will never forget it. happened at worst time, middle of day, sunny, no wind, and bang 3 in quick succession. they were definetly spangos to, yellow with blue spots, almost thought it was a snapper when it was coming up.
diving at rotto in salmon bay on Sunday, I saw a spangled emperor, would have been 50-60cm long and was definitely a spangled, really yellow and bright blue spots, he was sitting just under a ledge in a warm pocket of water, the was also a lion fish in a hole less than 10 metres away!

Does the fact it's such a juvenile fish mean they are breeding in the Swan?

From what i've understood
From what i've understood they breed in the ocean and birth them in inlets where it's more sheltered from larger predators
Probably why marinas are usually teeming with baby pinks at certain times of the year
Did the guys consider putting in a report to redmap?

Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.
