Hi guys I dont know if you watch the youtube channel doms fishing adventures but I recently saw him catch herring in the swan and I would love to catch one as it would be a new species. So I need advice on what is the best bait or lures if they work better, what is the best tides, best time of day, best time of year, what is the best burley and where is the best locations in the swan river. Cheers.

When I was a kid, there was no such thing as internet, so we had to go out and sort it out ourselves, learn on the go. You could try some of that.

Baconi you are a prolific little poster! - in order to keep the Kangaroo court (that's all the guys on here who will get grumpy and have a crack at you !) off your back
maybe next time make one post with lots of questions
In terms of herring - a cheap halco twisty is the best - herring (and tailor ) love them and they are cheap to buy

lol... yeah i seocnd the metal twistys, helps keep the blowies to a minimum. i found whitebait ofn a very small set of gangs can be good, but u get hammered in the river by lowies.... once you hit a pacth of herring that are feeding, they seem to eat anything...i have caught them on bits of al-foil before...

Ecogear MX48 colour 307 has been my go-to jig for herring for a while. It's a cracker. Well worth having in your arsenal.
Good luck on the hunt
