I've used the flick baits in white and about 3 inches long, the herring lovem, but they destroy them pretty quick. Got a heap of big johns jigs in 1/8 and going to try them next.
i use slim swims in white and green at the cut 1/12 02 1/8th jig head the lightest you can a litle drop of sfactor and they got mad i out fish those with bait and green straw every time i always get asked what im using. all the small plastics work but the sfactor is the key
I use a small blob and about 2 inches of drinking straw over a small treble or 1/0 tarpon on a metre plus leader under the blob. Just cast out and fast wind in, if they go quiet then change the colour of the straw

A bit of green lumo tube (or a green rawl plug) on a long shank hook is as good as anything if you're looking at using an artifical bait

Waxwings
Although not plastics, I find Shimano Waxwings 58 (mighty) in any colour/pattern work a treat.
If herring are about, they will get them.

Best by far IMO as an arti
is a Crazy Charlie fly behind a blob.
Cant resist the fly, and the blob gets it out there without needing a fly rod.
