Rotto Pub

Done a bit of research but couldnt find a good answer haha

Want to know where to moore up when you want to go for a feed at the Rotto pub.... Not staying over night or anything, just thinking about ducking out there one day after a quick fish and I dont know where to moore or anchor.

If anyone could tell me it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Look forward to the answer to this, from what I know it costs $10 to beach your boat?

There are pens available at the fuel jetty and hotel jetty, and there are beach moorings available as well.  Have to book ahead, I think about $20 for 24hrs.

Right in front of the pub

Right in front of the pub and Aristos is free beach moorings.

Make sure you have a coil of rope 20 meters long for stern and some fenders if it's busy.

See pics from my Rotto trips the last few summers if unsure

These pics are on the beach moorings

i saw a recfishwest or fisheries media release around a week ago, that said a 50-something year old man had recently been found guilty, and got a few $k fine for tampering with  pots around rotto last year. No name given, though it ticked a few boxes.

In the first offence on Tuesday November 8, two men pleaded guilty and were fined over gear interference offences from last season around Rottnest Island.

A 53 year-old Hillarys man received fines and costs of $1688, while a 32 year-old man from Nedlands was ordered to pay a total of $2169. Both men had been unaware their every move was being carefully watched by Fisheries officers.

*edit, just googled him and he was born 1965, making him 53. Guilty by google!!!

Seems a very light penalty if he was also selling the stolen crays in his restaurant?

Landing fee $18

Sun, 2016-11-20 06:51

Yep, free beach mooring in front of Aristos but I'm pretty sure that you are required to head over to the visitors centre and pay a landing fee per person.  That's about $18 each I think.

google up Rottnest beach mooring, it tells you all the locattions and the procedure to Moore your boat, pretty sure you can Moore on any beach as long as you are not disturbing sea grass beds ! Have to pay $18 landing fee at visitor centre but most people I know only ever pay for 1 person.

 Yep as above Aristos free

Sun, 2016-11-20 07:07

Yep as above Aristos free beach pens (up to 8m vessels) are the best and easiest. Drop bow anchor, reverse in and tie two stern lines to the beach anchor points. More free beach pens just Sth of pub and some new ones installed last year at Geordie bay too.

$18/person per day at the visitor centre or you can pay online.....or get an annual pass for around $250 depending on boat size.
