Northerly current

Was out yesterday in amazing conditions in areas on the 40 metre contour, but the Northerly current was absolutely ripping. We anchored using our newly installed Minn Kota trolling motor and it was like anchoring in a fast flowing channel. Baits ended up 20 metres befind the boat even though we were locked in with the Minn Kota. Fishing was very slow with almost no bites and baits were coming up untouched even though we were seeing heaps on the sounder. Only managed one nice baldie for the day and released 3 small dhuies and 1 small pinky. Did anyone else out there yesterday experience similiar ?

One thing that I noticed on
One thing that I noticed on todays weather when looking at the 4 day maps was a low forming around metro over the next few days ,
coming down from the north of course, mm bit wierd for mid june , It was also very damp in Perth last night , and it has been said on
here before that high and low pressures can affect water movement , just a thought.
What was water temp? cause I thought the leewin current wasnt that warm/ strong this year.

Water temp
we were out wide on Friday and leaving hillarys water temp was 19.5 and as we went out watched the temp steadily rise to 22 at the 45-60mtr area.
Eric there was a northerly wind blowing as well yesterday which often shuts the fish down, it was a northerly blowing on Friday too and although we got 3 good fish it was hard work for them.

We drifted over this 5x on Sat and couldn't get a bite and were pulling our mulies back up. Was very depressing until we cleaned up in the 30s.

Frustrating
It would be frustrating to have a screen like that and not getting any bites.

More than likely. They were moving around and there were heaps of schools mid to top water. Couldn't snag a single tuna either

Water Temp
Water temp in the 40's was about 22. Interesting was that on the way out, we had a showing on the sounder in 29 Metres, so we had a quick stop (which is now easy with the Minn Kota) and immediately got an undersize dhu and an undersize snapper. Current wasn't as strong closer in and at that stage the wind was pretty much due east. We did catch quite a few Sergeant Baker and a few scorpion fish ? in the 40's
